JDM Roadster ND Model Guide

Here you'll find a breakdown of each variant of fourth generation Roadster that was available in Japan, together with some of the standard features of each model and an example picture. The range has been simplified due to there being just the 1.5 litre engine with a choice of 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

All cars come with Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Emergency Signal System (ESS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Hill Launch Assist (HLA), and a Traction Control System (TCS) as standard. The i-ACTIVSENSE Safety Pack was optional on some cars and consists of High Beam Control (HBC), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Adaptive Front light System (AFS), and the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS).

The i-ELOOP energy recovery system and i-STOP idle control technology was standard on automatic models and optional on manuals except the base model. The Intelligent Drive Master (i-DM) system analyses driver inputs and displays your score on the dashboard Multi-Information Display (MID). RS, NR-A, Leather & Special Package 6MT cars get the Super LSD, additional chassis brace across the transmission tunnel, and a rear anti-roll (sway) bar. Manual cars have a lightweight flywheel.

The RF model went on sale in Japan on 22nd December 2016. This model introduced the 2.0 engine to the home market. There were three grades, the basic S, the luxury VS, and the sporty RS. The automatic transmission was available with the S and VS but not on the RS because it came fitted with the LSD.

Chassis numbers start at ND5RC-100001 for the soft top and NDERC-100001 for the RF model.
