BBR's latest upgrade package for the NC MX-5 is something of a farewell gift. The 'Super 225' represents the peak of normally aspirated development for the standard 2.0 Mk3 MX-5. The Super 225 package builds on BBR's successful previous work with exhaust systems, camshafts, and engine management tuning.
Adding a set of specially developed individual throttles from AT Power boosts power output to around 225 Bhp @ 7900 rpm with 175 lbft of torque at 4500 rpm. The upgrade maintains use of the original Mazda ECU so doesn't interfere with the car's idle or electronic safety systems.
The complete upgrade includes:
BBR stainless steel 4 into 1 exhaust manifold
BBR high performance intake and exhaust camshafts
BBR 3.5 inch diameter branded tailpipes with stainless steel clamps
BBR badges for front wings and bootlid
Drive by wire direct to head shaftless AT Power individual throttle bodies
Bespoke AT Power / BBR curved inlet extensions
CNC machined 20mm alloy inlet ram pipes
MAP block assembly (enabling OEM Mazda MAP sensor installation)
Ramair foam air filter
BBR Engine breather system
8000 rpm rev limit
There is also an optional BBR airbox and replacement OEM intake available. The Super 225 parts can be retro fitted as a complete package or as a discounted add-on upgrade for existing BBR Super 200 customers. This means NC owners who previously fitted an exhaust manifold or have had a BBR remap can add power in stages to suit their budget.
