The latest issue of Hyper Rev has arrived. This is actually the ninth edition to be dedicated to the Roadster, although for some reason it is counted as the eighth. If you've been collecting the magazine you should now have numbers 1, 14, 51, 73, 92, 111, 149, 159, and 201. The latest issue's cover features AutoExe's ND, a Mazdaspeed kitted NC, blue NB, and a V-Special NA model.
With this being the first issue published since the launch of the ND, there are several features about the new model along with a couple of pages on the Roadster's family history to bring newcomers up to speed. In amongst the extensive catalogue of aftermarket parts, there are features and interviews with the owners of some of the more well known tuning shops such as Maruha Motors, Arena, Car Make Corn's, Active, Ken Auto, and RS Factory Stage.
One of the more unusual ND models featured is the Cabana demo car which has been made to look like an original NA V-Special with re-trimmed tan leather and wood interior combined with British Racing Green exterior. Then there is the Data System car with it's blue suede interior trim and R-Spec half front bumper trim which looks pretty cool.
This issue's comprehensive demo car collection feature includes Roadsters modified by Nopro, Cusco, AutoExe, Kuhl Racing, Leg Motor Sport, Garage Vary, S2 Racing, Kansai Service, Fujimura Auto, Olive Ball, Waste Sports, Zoom Engineering, Joy Fast, Esqueleto, Jupiter-Net, Odula, Tuckin99, and Integral Kobe. Each of these short articles talks about the modifications of the cars and gives an insight into the new parts each company is developing.
There are plenty of adverts too, including double page spreads for Enkei, Rays and Yokohama wheels with some great photos of the ND. Probably the most interesting news are the three different turbo conversion kits from AVO, Blitz, and GReddy. These will be on the market shortly, with the GReddy kit making it's debut at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon fitted to the Pandem kitted wide body demo car.
This issue is another great addition to the collection, and if like me, you enjoy following the MX-5 aftermarket Hyper Rev is a must buy. The magazine costs around £15 and takes about 2 days to arrive from Japan.
