The MX-5 Dakar was a special edition for the UK market in 1997. This edition is similar to the earlier Eunos G-Limited, which also featured a dark blue exterior with grey interior trim.
The Dakar was based on the 1.8i model and finished in Twilight Blue. Dakar specification included unique design 15" alloy wheels, grey leather seats with matching door panels, stainless sill plates with MX-5 logo, Dakar logo carpet mats, 3-spoke leather steering wheel, a polished rear cabin brace, walnut burr dashboard trim, a numbered interior badge, and exterior Dakar badges.
Production of the Dakar was limited to just 400 making it a fairly exclusive model. Prices started from £17,210 with optional extras including a colour matched hardtop and CD changer.
