Development of the Blitz Roadster has continued with the focus turning to time attack events. This second demo car is being used to develop Blitz's turbo kit for the 1.5 litre engine as well as suspension and brake upgrades. Blitz's turbo conversion includes a bespoke manifold and intercooler along with programmable engine management. The original Mazda air filter is replaced with a Blitz advance power intake. Maximum power output is currently in the region of 186PS which is a significant increase from the standard car's 131.
The exterior features the same Aero Speed R-Concept bodykit that debuted at the 2016 Tokyo Salon. This kit consists of a replacement front bumper, replacement side skirts, and a rear diffuser that attaches to the standard bumper cover. Extra downforce on track is provided by a new GT-style rear wing that will likely become available as part of the aero package. There is also a new vented bonnet and a smart red/black livery which works nicely against the solid Arctic White paintwork.
The Roadster project was previously fitted with Enkei RPF1 wheels, now the new car is showcasing one of Enkei's latest designs, the PFM1. These are 17" 8.5J and fitted with Dunlop Direzza tyres sized 235/40/17. The stock suspension has been replaced with Blitz's newly developed ZZ-R Spec-C dampers, with handling further improved by some development sway bars and a 4-point roll cage.
Other aftermarket parts on the car include a Blitz Nur-Spec F-Ti muffler with 80mm tailpipes, Nardi steering wheel, upgraded brake calipers, oil cooler, Ogura Racing clutch, and a Bride Zeta driver's seat. The interior has also been modified with some parts removed for weight savings.
